Thankful Thursday

Today I am Thankful for the never-ending love of a perfect boy.

His name is Aidyn James. He is the LOVE of my life. This morning as I was about to leave after dropping him off at daycare {Gma and Gpa's House}{SO LUCKY FOR THAT} he gave me a smooch and went to playing, but right as I was getting to the door he squealed and wobbled over to give me a great big hug!

Moments like that make my heart skip a beat.

He is so innocent, loving, caring, and absolutely perfect.

Babies {I should probably stop calling him a baby since he is 1} I mean toddlers... are very smart.

He knows what he can get away with and what he can't. He knows that if he cries long enough his mommy will pick him up to give him love. He knows that if you are eating something and he clings to your leg, you'll give him some. I could go on for quite awhile, but if I get my work done I get to go home and play with AJ. :)

I am Thankful that I get to watch him learn new things each and every day.

I wish for just an hour I could see the world through his eyes...

Day Seven: 7 Wants

10 Day You Challenge {Day Seven: Seven Wants}

Today is day seven of the 10 Day You Challenge: Seven Wants. Here goes nothing... :)

1. An unlimited amount of money. Who doesn't want this? I wish that I could afford to buy a house for Aidyn and I. I wish I could immediately pay off my loans when I finish my degree. I wish I could spend $20 on something I don't need without feeling guilty about it... {That is more than one want, but they all rely on money!}

2. I want to be a stay at home mommy... At least until he starts school. A girl can dream right....

3. Have a personal trainer. I can't seem to get myself motivated to get my body into the shape that I want and need it to be.

4. A sibling for Aidyn. This is years off, but I hope one day I can give him a forever friend. {besides his mommy of course}

5. To find true love.

6. A personal shopper/stylist. I would die if I had someone to do my hair and makeup every morning and someone to take me shopping and pick out clothes that make me look fabulous.

7. I want my best friends to all move close to me. I'm sick of having hundreds of miles between us!

I could go on for quite awhile.... What do all of you want?!

Day Six: 6 places

10 Day You Challenge {Day Six: Six Places}

Today is day six of the 10 Day You Challenge: Six Places. I love traveling, but unfortunately haven't had much opportunity to go far far away. So here are a few of my favorite places, and a few places I dream of going one day.

1. Las Vegas. I went to Vegas for my 21st. It was a blast {and I went with a bunch of old folks ;)} I would love love love to go with a group of close friends. There is so much to do and see! I'm crossing my fingers that I get enough saved to make it for a bestie's 21st this year!
WaStEd!

2. On the lake. I love being on the lake. Which means I have to kick my butt in to gear so I feel comfortable on a boat in a bikini this year!

3. Hockey Rinks.  I pretty much grew up in a rink. I have been in more than I can even remember throughout my life. I love being there, whether I'm skating or watching, it is a blast!

4. Florida. I've been there twice. Once just for a visit, another for my cousin Lisa's wedding. It was so much fun, but I know if I went again I would enjoy it even more. I have family there who I miss very much!

Two of my Florida cousins :)

5. Home Sweet Home. It's always nice to go home.

6. Hawaii. I have a tattoo on my left forearm that says sister in Polynesian. I always get asked why we got it in Polynesian, and to be honest I don't know why we did. I'd love to take a trip... ideally with my brother to Hawaii to explore and learn how to say sister and brother in their native language.

There are six places that I love or would love to go!

Day Five: 5 Foods!

Playing catch up AGAIN!

10 Day You Challenge {Day Five: Five Foods}

Today is day five of the 10 Day You Challenge: Five Foods. MMM food!

1. Potatoes. Mashed, baked, sweet, cheesy, you name it I'll eat it.

2. Fruit.  I love almost all fruits. Apples with peanut butter, grapefruit {with a little sugar on top}, grapes, fresh picked strawberries, YUM

3. Chipotle. SO delicious! My mouth is now watering.. mmm

4. Pickles. I have loved them since I was a little tyke. I could eat half a jar if I didn't stop myself...

That's my boy!! :)

5. Girl Scout Cookies.  I have done so well this year! I ordered quite a few boxes, but I am taking my time eating them! They freeze well :)

My favorite three are on the right!

There you have it folks... Not too exciting, but there are five of my favorite foods!

10 Day You Challenge {Day Four: Four Books}

Today is day four of the 10 Day You Challenge: Four Books.

I really enjoy reading, but finding the time lately has been a challenge. Here are a few of my favorite books.

1. Tuesdays with Morrie:  This book isn't too depressing because it deals with death, but it doesn't make light of it either. It deals with true friendship and discusses some of life's many questions. It made me think, and I love a book that makes me question, and wonder.

2. Love You Forever: Ok I know this is a children's book, but it's still a book. I have liked this book since I was little and now I get to read it to my little man! :)

3. Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult: I really enjoy Jodi Picoult's writing. It's hard for me to choose a favorite, so I choose the most recent that I've read. In Sterling, New Hampshire, 17-year-old high school student Peter Houghton has endured years of verbal and physical abuse at the hands of classmates. His best friend, Josie Cormier, succumbed to peer pressure and now hangs out with the popular crowd that often instigates the harassment. One final incident of bullying sends Peter over the edge and leads him to commit an act of violence that forever changes the lives of Sterling’s residents.

4. Betty White: Here We Go Again : Read it!!! I am so in love with Betty White. She is an incredible woman!

There you have it folks! Any good reads you recommend??

{{P.S. I'm catching up for the days I missed over the weekend... No computer!}}

10 Day You Challenge {Day Three: Three Films}

Today is day three of the Ten Day You Challenge: Three Films.

I love Films!! It is so easy to sit back, watch, and let your mind go. So, here are three of many favorite films!

1. Finding Neverland: This movie is so fantasticly wonderful. Every time I watch I laugh, I cry and I get lost in the magic of it all.

2. Pretty Woman: Classic! This movie is just fun. It's one that I have to watch if I'm flipping through the channels and it pops up.

Vivan: Tell me one person who it's worked out for.
Kit: What, you want me to name someone? You want like a name? Oh, God, the pressure of a name... I got it. Cindafuckin'rella {{HEHEHE}}

3. The Shawshank Redemption: It's simply a great story. Morgan Freeman is also fantastic in it. I am in love with his narration.

Any suggestions on what I should watch next?!

Ten Day Challenge: Day 2

Ten Day You Challenge {Day 2: Two Songs}

Today is day two of the Ten Day You Challenge: Two Songs.

How in the heck do you choose just two songs?!
Well here are two that I have been listening to quite a bit lately...

Missy Higgins - Where I Stood

'Cos I dont know who I am, who I am without you
All I know is that I should
And I don't know if I could stand another hand upon you
All I know is that I should
'Cos she will love you more than I could
She who dares to stand where I stood
{I couldn't say it any better myself...}

Hunter Hayes - Wanted

'Cause I wanna wrap you up
Wanna kiss your lips
I wanna make you feel wanted
And I wanna call you mine
Wanna hold your hand forever
Never let you forget it
Yeah, I wanna make you feel wanted

{I want someone to make me feel wanted... It's as simple as that.}

I hope you're all enjoying the beautiful weather! I'm going to go home, sit on the porch and drink an BIG glass of 'Sippy Cup Chardonnay'

Cheers & Love

Ten Day You Challenge: Day 1

Ten Day You Challenge {Day 1: One Picture of Yourself}
I found this fun blog challenge from {nuefvies} and thought I'd join in!

Day 1: One picture of Yourself. So without further ado...

This picture was taken of me my freshman year of college. I was 115 pounds! I felt incredible! This is probably one of my favorite pictures of me. I was happy {pretty drunk} and living THE life. Now, I know that after having a baby it is pretty difficult to get back to exactly how you were, so I don't think I am setting my goals to high. I want to get back to 120 pounds... I gained sixty while I was pregnant and I'm down to 139 {WHOOP WHOOP} so I have 19 pounds to go. I know I won't look exactly the same under my clothes, {my body is SO different} but if I can tone myself instead of having all of this extra flubber I think I'll be happy. I have to get my head straight and find some motivation, but I know that I will get it done. {No matter how long it takes} I am hoping that I am happy with the results by September 1st 2012 for my best friend's wedding!

:) Well there is Day 1. I'll be back tomorrow!

Cheers & Love

TAG I'm it!

The beautiful Miss Cathryn from {nuefvies}tagged me in this fun post! Thanks Cat :)
I don't have many people to tag, so I'll just answer my questions and then give all of those who read some questions to think about.
How it works:

Answer the 11 questions that the tagger posted for you
Write 11 random things about yourself
Then create 11 questions to ask the people you've tagged
Tag people and link them in your post
Post their button on your post if they have one
Let them know you have tagged them

My 11 Questions:

1.What song(s) lyrics best describe you/your life?

'Cos I dont know who I am, who I am without you
 All I know is that I should
 And I don't know if I could stand another hand upon you
 All I know is that I should
 'Cos she will love you more than I could
 She who dares to stand where I stood.

  Missy Higgins - Where I Stood

2. What is the biggest accomplishment thus far in your life?

Becoming a mother. I have always, always, wanted to be a mother. I never thought that it would happen as soon as it did, but I am so blessed and wouldn’t change it for anything. I have learned something new from the very first day that my little man was born. He never ceases to amaze me.

3. You could be any age again, what age would you be?

Hmm.. Probably 16 or 17. I’d be back in high school. I would love to be able to relive it. I loved the sports; whether I was playing them or watching them, it was always fun. I miss being able to do anything and not really having consequences. I didn’t have to work a ‘real’ job, school was fun for the most part, even though we said there was nothing to do in Spooner we always found something to do. It was a lot more relaxing. But I do have to add that I am content with 22. Sure, everything isn’t going perfect and I would love to change some things, but I am learning and isn’t that what you’re supposed to do in life?

4. What's your greatest strength?
My greatest strength is my determination (in some things) For example. I am determined to give my son a great life. I won't stop until I have succeeded. It's as simple as that.

What’s your greatest weakness?
My greatest weakness is that I forgive far to easily.

5.  What goal do you want to accomplish within the next five years?

Graduate college. It will be hard for me. I have gotten so far and have spent far too much money to stop and go for something else. I am pursuing my degree in Elementary Education through the Distance Learning program at UW-Superior. I actually don’t start until summer, but it is in motion. I am not sure that teaching is what I want to do for the rest of my life, but I figure if I finish my degree I can (hopefully) get a job and see how I am feeling after a year or two and go from there.

& because I know that I can and will graduate with a few years of my five to spare, I would also like to walk the 3-day Susan G Komen for the cure! http://ww5.komen.org/

6. Why do you blog?

My mind is constantly in motion so it’s nice to have an outlet. I have been slacking though… Let’s hope I can stay a little more up to date!

7. Are you right brain vs. left brain?

I don’t really know to be honest, but if I had to pick I would say I’m probably more right brain. I am a pretty visual person.

8. What's your biggest fear?

My biggest fear is Aidyn dying before me. I cannot imagine what I would do with myself if I lost him. I can’t say anything else about it… It hurts thinking about it.

9. If you could live in any time period, what time period would that be?

The Roaring 20’s. I don’t know why… They seemed to enjoy themselves J

10. What's your favorite quote(s)?

I LOVE quotes! There are so many that I could choose from, but today these are my favorite two.

The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother – Theodore Hesburgh

“Sometimes”, said Pooh, “the smallest things take up the most room in your heart.”

11. What's your favorite activity?

Playing outside with Aidyn!!! I figured this out yesterday. He is so curious about everything. It is fun to watch. It is going to be so fun taking him places this summer!! The Zoo, the aquarium, the park, anywhere fun! If you have any suggestions on where to take him please let me know J

11 Random Things about Myself

1. I have a birth mark the size of a dime under my chin. Anyone who knows me has seen it. I’m not a huge fan of it… Ya ya I know it’s what makes me, me.

2. I am super afraid of suffocating! I cringe just thinking about it…

3. I will give people a 2nd, 3rd, 18th, (you get the point) chance to prove themselves to me. It has caused a lot of pain, but until I can let go I hang on for dear life.

4. Chewing tobacco disgusts me. I have never been a fan of it, but after my Dad was diagnosed with Bladder cancer because of it, when I see someone chewing I make sure they know how I feel about it.

5. The one job I know I would love and be really great at is being a stay at home mommy. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like I will be able to do that anytime soon.

6. I wanted to be a veterinarian when I was little. I still love animals, but I could never put one out of its misery if you know what I mean L

7. I am SO excited to get married. It doesn’t look like it is in the cards for me any time soon, so I am living through my friends and helping them plan their weddings that I am SO lucky to be a part of!

8. One of my favorite places (that I sadly don’t go to much anymore) is Grandma Harriet’s farm in Spooner. I used to be there all the time when I was little. My Dad used to take me to look at the babies every year right after they were all born J or I would play in the chicken coop with Megan and Ben. Good times..

9. I would do anything for my son. I mean anything. He is my heart.

10.  I have one tattoo on my left forearm. kaikuahine. It means sister in Polynesian. My brother has his in the same place saying brother.  1. No we are not Polynesian. 2. We have no connection to the language. 3. We liked the way it looked, and we know the meaning and that is what is important to us.

11.  I hate exercising. I can’t get myself motivated to do it. It’s so nice out, I’m going to put on my jogging shoes and go for a jog…. Ick.  I can think of much better things to do when it is nice out than to run. I know I need to start working out though. So I am looking in to more creative ways to get in shape…

Here are just a few questions for you to think about.
1. What is one thing that you would change in this world?
2. What is your definition of happiness?
3. What are three things that you want to teach your children?

Thankful Thursday

 Today I am THANKFUL for  and their FANTASTIC Thai Chicken Salad. It is absolutely delicious. I was so hungry by the time noon rolled around and this salad Hit The Spot. It has crunch and the dressing adds spectacular flavor! I would recommend this to EVERYONE. It got me through a few hours at work, and I am now craving it again. It may sound like something silly to be Thankful for, but this salad is so delicious!

All-natural, antibiotic-free chicken, romaine, Thai cashews, fire-roasted edamame, red peppers, carrots, fresh cilantro & wonton strips all tossed in low-fat Thai Chili Vinaigrette and drizzled with peanut sauce.

TRY IT!
Then let me know how you like it :)

I'm headed home, then maybe out for sushi and a LARGE glass of Sippy Cup Chardonnay.
Take a look around and realize that even if things are rough, you have SO much to be Thankful for.

Happy Thursday!
Cheers & Love all!
